After one full season at the University of Oregon, Willie Taggart will return to the state of Florida. This time, he will be the head coach of the Florida State Seminoles.

Taggart accepted a deal to be the head coach at Florida State not long after the previous head coach Jimbo Fisher left to be named the head coach at Texas A&M. Oregon offered him a contract to stay in Eugene, but the allure of returning to his home state was too great for Taggart to pass up. He was the head coach at South Florida before going to Oregon for the 2017-2018 season, where he was 24-25 with the Bulls and getting them from a 2-10 record in 2012 to a 10-2 record in 2016. The Bradenton native now hopes to use his offensive mindset to help the Seminoles rebound from a 6-6 regular season this year.

The Florida State University has scheduled a formal announcement to take place on Wednesday.
