The Greatest Returner Leaves the Game

The Greatest Returner Leaves the Game

Early Tuesday morning, Devin Hester who may be the greatest special teams player ever, called it a career and is moving on to the next chapter in his life. After eleven NFL seasons, three different teams, and likely a spot in the Hall of Fame, Hester will move from being chased down by grown men in pads to being chased by his sons and changing diapers of the baby boy that is on the way.

Once dubbed the “Windy City Flyer,” Hester holds the National Football League records for most punt returns (315) and most punt return yards (3695), along with most career touchdowns for combined special teams returns (20) and most non-offensive touchdowns (20). This is on top of more than two dozen Chicago Bears franchise records and ten other NFL records.

He plans on coaching his boys, but as it would be the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Man all he does is watch my Highlights, now he cuts back every damn time!!!!!!🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

It’s easy to see that Devin will have plenty of things to keep his hands full with in retirement, and he will not have to resort to collecting Hummels and crafting hobby houses just yet.

Congratulations on your third child and on an incredible career. Cheers!
