New York Jets Claim DE Kony Ealy

It was reported Sunday that the New York Jets claimed defensive end Kony Ealy off waivers, following the New England Patriot placing him on waivers a day prior.

Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report, per sources, that the Jets made the move to bring in the former second round draft pick.

With the addition of Ealy along the defensive line, he joins the likes of Leonard Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson, and his cousin, Shelden Richardson. Ealy will provide depth at DE and could get a renewed chance to be large explosive rusher teams looked to him for out of the University of Oregan.

The Patriots have had been fishing around for a trade partner to move the DE evidently without much success. This is the last year in which Ealy qualities for waivers, after this season he will be a vested veteran. He
