Friday Clayton, GA police reported that the mistress of a former NFL player kidnapped and killed his wife then committed suicide soon after.

Lisa Brown, the 49 year-old mistress kidnapped Sandra Barnett (58 year-old) from her home Wednesday, after learn the Barnett and he husband were playing a trip, according to Officer Charlene Watson-Fraser, spokesperson for Clayton Police. Barnett is the spouse of former Buffalo Bills as a tight end Buster Barnett.

Officials release the details Thursday after the two women were found dead in a vehicle following a chase the ended in Alabama along Interstate 20. Police spokesperson said Brown shot Barnett before turning the gun on herself.

Buster Barnett, now 56 year-old, told authorities that Brown appeared at his place of employment Wednesday with complaints of the trip, per sportsperson Watson-Fraser. According to the report Brown then went to Barnett home in Ellenwood, GA where she threaten and kidnapped Mrs. Barnett.

Watson-Fraser told reporters, “She was upset about a trip that his wife was going on with him and it was one she didn’t know about.”

Authorities said, when Brown arrived at the Barnett residence armed, Sandra Barnett was on the phone with a friend. Barnett’s friend could hear in the back ground that sounded people in a struggle. She was then unable to reach Barnett by phone, so you contacted a male friend to go to the Barnett house and check on Sandra.

The man drove to Barnett household and saw woman next to a Dodge Durango in the driveway and he continued past the house. After the man turn his vehicle around to drive back by the “SUV was gone,” Watson-Fraser said.

Brown’s vehicle was spotted by law enforcement Thursday in Carroll, where they pursued the Durango into Alabama. That is where “The driver stopped in the middle of the highway, pulled out a handgun and shot (Barnett) and then turned the gun on herself,” Watson-Fraser said.

“Lisa Brown was actually on probation for kidnapping out of the state of Texas,” cops told NBC affiliate 11Alive. “She had kidnapped her child that she had lost custody of, and the jurisdiction down there had to track her for like three days to find her.”

Both the house in Lithonia the Brown lived in and the Dodge Durango driven by her Lithonia home were owned Buster Barnett’s, according to Watson-Fraser. Buster said that “He said he was trying to help her out.”

The Bills drafted Barnett in 11th round of the 1981 NFL Draft. He played for the Bills form 1981-1984 and appeared in 56 games, staring in eight. He ended his NFL career catching 26 passes for a grand total of 236 yards and a single touchdown.
