The former WBA middleweight champion Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs returns to the ring after his close and controversial decision loss to unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin on November 11th. He will be in a fight card at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale against Luis Arias in a bout scheduled for 12 rounds and will be the main event for the card. HBO will be televising the event.

Jacobs will look to get back into title contention with a win as he is currently ranked #2 in the WBC and #5 in the WBA, IBF, and WBO. Arias comes into this fight unbeaten at 18-0 and is the current USBA middleweight champion. He is ranked in the WBC at #9, the WBA at #14, the IBF at #6, and he is ranked #11 in the WBO.

What is notable about this fight for Jacobs is that it will be the first fight that he will be under Matchroom Boxing which is led by Eddie Hearn. Jacobs is the first American fighter that Hearn has signed under the Matchroom banner. The plan for Hearn is to expand his market within the United States, and getting a fighter like Jacobs looks to be a good signing for them.

As part of the co-feature, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller will be fighting an opponent to be named later. Miller is coming off of a TKO win over former world title challenger Gerald Washington at the Barclays Center in July. He intends to extend his 20 fight unbeaten streak and move up the heavyweight ranks.
